Deep down within, we humans all want to be loved. However, many people on Earth have little to no love in their present existence and are suffering. They long for love, which seems so elusive and hard to find. Everywhere we see hurtful division, conflict, animosity, or war between individuals, groups, genders, races, classes, religions, nations, and so on. Our world needs more love around and among us.
Imagine what the world will be like if most of us love unconditionally our fellow human beings. Unconditional love is love we give freely to another person without any condition. It is a selfless act and not based on what we get in return. That means we genuinely want to help and bring happiness to others, including strangers and those who have wronged us.
It is not difficult to love unconditionally while we practice and do it with intention from our hearts, knowing everyone needs unconditional love. Each of us can do it and make a difference in changing lives and the world.
Why Do We Love Others Unconditionally?
There is only one human race on Earth, and everyone belongs to this race. This beautiful planet Earth, where we inhabit, is home to all of us. Once humanity has mutual love and affection for one another and lives happily together as in one big, loving family, our earthly home becomes a paradise for everyone.
All human beings are the same at the fundamental level. Everybody has physical, emotional, psychological, and other higher needs for survival. Most people work busily in their lives in order to meet these needs. Many of them are experiencing tremendous challenges, obstacles, struggles, or hardships. It is tough to make it on Earth.
At present, a lot of people live in distress, misery, agony, or poverty, whether from disease, ill health, addiction, domestic violence, homelessness, corruption, poor economy, discord, disaster, fight, war, or other life circumstances. All good-hearted persons are urged to send more love and kindness around to alleviate pains and help others out.
Quite certainly most of us desire happiness, health, abundance, security, loving relationships, and other good things in life. In today’s world, almost everyone depends on others’ work to supply us food, housing, necessities of life, and various pleasures.
There are a great deal of life experiences and ambitions we share as humans. We have plenty more in common than dissimilarity. Our common humanity and interdependence join us all together when we accept, respect, and look past individual, ethnic, and other differences.
World peace begins with a rising human consciousness and the resolve of humanity to say no to widespread corruption, massive suffering, destruction of human lives, and constant warfare. When an ever-increasing number of human hearts demands peace on Earth, a dream of world peace and prosperity for all people can come true. As soon as most people of the world practice unconditional love and compassion toward others, it will happen.
Our universe is believed to be brought about by our collective consciousness and vibrational energy. The vibrations from our words, feelings, thoughts, and actions, whether positive or negative, affect the whole. We are all interconnected. It is important for each of us to contribute positively to the collective. Thus, humanity can soon bring forth a new world with the highest good for all.
Unconditional love has a dynamic of reciprocal giving and receiving in the Law of Attraction. Everything in existence, including you and me, is made of energy, with each vibrating at its unique frequency. The kind of energy frequency we send out is what we attract in return. The more we love, the more love we receive, and the more love in the world.
All human souls are from the same Source/Creator/God/All That Is and connected together in one soul family. We are part of one source and are all in One. Created in the image of Source, which is unconditional love, each soul is also unconditional love. At the core of each created thing resides Source’s omnipresent love that binds all creation together.
All of us are spiritual beings coming to have a human experience on Earth. We came here to discover this unconditional love from within. Each person is unique and an expression of Source for it to gain as many perspectives as possible from our experiences. Embrace and support the individuality of each human/soul because divine love is in our soul within every one of us.
One of the primary life purposes for each soul in every human reincarnation is to learn life lessons about love and manifest unconditional love to one another on Earth. Everyone also came to be a creator to offer our individually unique contributions to benefit other humans and beings.
Without love and creativity, life becomes meaningless. The reasons healthy people commit suicide could very well be that they lack loving relationships and creativeness and are unable to overcome boredom, weariness, and hopelessness in their lives.
A baby cannot survive on their own. From the day each of us was born, we depended on the love and nurture from our parents or caregivers to keep us alive and thriving. This is a design of Source for humans to rely on one another. And to discover how much we need each other’s love and care.
Look at the clear blue sky, star, rainbow, autumn-colored tree, ocean, mountain, and amazing wonder of nature to admire the awesomeness, magnificence, and unconditional love given to us by Source Creator. To practice unconditional love in our daily lives is to reflect on the beautiful essence of Source Creator and our souls.
Unconditional love is a divine, spiritual love. Having an abundance of it gives humans true inner peace, harmony, and joy, which money and material things can’t provide. Love invites and allows someone to come and join us inside in unity with Source’s love and creation.
Self-love and love for others lead us to good health and well-being in many ways. Whereas we choose negative emotions such as anger, hatred, envy, and bitterness, we bring poor health and troubles to ourselves. All Source’s creation is balanced.
Our society has taught us to compete in everything, like in schools and workplaces, to get ahead in life. To win over others is the best, if not the only, way to obtain fortune, power, and happiness. Unfortunately, these teachings have caused too many pains and losers in the world nowadays. Instead, practice unconditional love to bring on true happiness in cooperation, unity, and all winners, not losers.
Our ego mind puts us over other persons and creates our separation from Source and one another. Only if we recognize the oneness and interconnectedness of all human beings and all existences do we transcend the self-other distinction. It enables us to appreciate everyone and love unconditionally, aiming to create together a peaceful, safe, harmonious, and abundant place for all on Earth. What we do matters and affects each other.
What Do You Do to Love Others Unconditionally?
Following the Golden Rule is the first step of loving others unconditionally. Jesus said, “Do to others what you would have them do to you.” This golden rule, in its various positive or negative forms, is ancient and universal, dating back to ancient Egypt, India, Greece, other teachings, and most religions.
Therefore, treat others as you would like to be treated by them. You want others to treat you with respect, appreciation, and kindness, don’t you? If not yet, start to respect, appreciate, and be kind in words and deeds to each person in your family, workplace, neighborhood, or community.
Treat all people with integrity, authenticity, and generosity. Pay honor to everybody. Always be polite, friendly, cheerful, thankful, and helpful. Inspire, give hope, and brighten their day. Keep your promises.
Jesus also said, “Love your neighbor as yourself…. Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who hurt you.” Paul taught, “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”
To love your neighbors and others, say loving words to compliment, encourage, and support them. Be generally interested in people and their families, lives, and pursuits. Make them feel welcome, valued, and cherished. Ask them how they want to be loved.
Practice being a good listener in each conversation so the other person feels heard and understood without judgment. Unconditional love means loving people through mistakes, wrongdoing, transgressions, difficulties, and tragedies. Don’t give up on anyone. Miracles happen.
Do a simple kind act for someone regularly without expecting repayment, such as letting someone in during a traffic jam or buying a meal for a homeless person.
Be the first one to say hello. Laughter and smiles are contagious. Smile at a stranger. Your smile may have “made someone’s day” in great happiness. It could have even given hope to a hopeless individual and saved a life without you knowing it.
Recent studies show that smiling makes people feel good, positive, and happy; look thinner, younger, more attractive, and likable; and even live longer. Keep smiling to those around you!
Love is compassion. Have compassion for people who experience adversities or are in need, no matter what they are—Russian or American, Christian or Muslim, Republican or Democrat, White or Asian, rich or poor. We know pains are always hurtful inside.
Pray often for world peace and the well-being of fellow humans. If available, volunteer in your local area to be of service to others—in a food bank, homeless shelter, crisis intervention, overdose lifeline, addiction recovery, senior or youth service, your kid’s classroom, etc.

See through another’s eyes with empathy and put your compassion in action. Feel from their perspective and connect with them. Assist them as best you can. You don’t have to do it perfectly. Just open your hearts, improve lives, and create positive changes in our world.
A noble act of love is to help heal a wounded soul of someone who has been abused and neglected all their life. Give them back self-worth and a trusting heart. Restore light and hope within them.
Practice automatic compassion when someone offends you. Realize that it’s really that person’s problems, not yours. You work on yourself to first observe and understand the reasons behind the negative behavior.
The person who offends you for no reason may have had tragic events occur to them earlier that day. It is easier for you to react compassionately as you know what has happened and what is troubling them. Then, try your best to help out.
Also, follow the other form of the golden rule—don’t treat others in ways that you would not like to be treated. No one likes to be hurt, so don’t do anything to hurt others. Never look down on or diminish another human being.
Stop any gossip, criticism, quarrel, verbal/physical abuse, or personal attack on anyone. No malicious act, harm, or murder against any person is ever justified. Love doesn’t blame, shame, condemn, or judge.
Don’t get angry with someone or yourself. In your anger, the one who always suffers the most is you. The one you are angry with most likely doesn’t even know or care about it. And you know exactly how bad you feel when you are angry—intense and stressful. Let it go out of love.
Love yourself and learn to control your anger if it’s an issue. Uncontrolled and frequent angers are linked to serious physical and mental health issues, especially in your heart, digestion, and sleep.
It’s definitely not easy to love your enemies and do good to those who harm you. As your love and compassion for others are on the rise, it gets easier. You can at least forgive them for now. Forgive is to forget and disregard their shortcomings, faults, and past wrongs against you. Let bygones be bygones.
Forgive your neighbors when their dogs pooped on your front yard or you heard loud music blasting from their house late at night. In reality, some of us could have possibly done something bad to others without noticing it. Have mercy and a big heart to forgive everyone and reap the rewards of lasting inner peace.
Unconditional love is the most precious gift you can offer to anyone. Give a person who misbehaves more love. They misbehave because they lack love. Send love to fill these people so they have more hope and love to overcome fear and stop doing harm to others.
Our intention is to love everyone. Even a criminal or someone who has committed crimes against humanity needs love. We never agree with what they have done. They must be stopped from hurting others again and deserve the just results of their actions. We can pray for love and light to fill within them.
Withdrawing love due to disagreement is conditional love. It creates all sorts of sufferings, divisions, and hostilities in the world. Since every person is unique, don’t tell people whom you don’t agree with that they are wrong and need to change. Everyone thinks their thought, belief, or opinion is right. Showing love and unity is more important than showing you are right. Just listen attentively to them and give love and compassion.
Coming from an infinite Source, love never ends and is free. So, dare to be your true self and give your divine love freely. When we love everyone, we are free. Love overcomes and transcends all fear, worry, doubt, apathy, hate, shame, guilt, grief, etc. It always triumphs and heals all wounds. You can change your enemies into friends by love.
The best marriages and relationships are the ones in which unconditional love is given and received mutually by both individuals. Any misunderstanding, bickering, arguing, nagging, or misdeed is forgotten and forgiven.
Love is the most beautiful and powerful energy of all energies in the universe that connects all people and creation. It embraces the attributes of caring, kindness, compassion, gentleness, selflessness, sharing, joy, inner wholeness, nonattachment, benevolence, humility, patience, grace, harmony, unity, and so on. It is a way of life that brings tranquility, bliss, and fulfillment to the core of our souls.
Therefore, love all things in your life: Source Creator, humans, animals, nature, and planet Earth. Source loves us so much that human DNA is created to also react to love. It begins to set in motion many good things in your physical and mental body, including health, healing, and balance. These happen as you are filled with Source’s love and then pour your love out to the world.
What Does Unconditional Love Not Mean?
Unconditional love doesn’t mean allowing or tolerating physical/emotional abuse and criminal acts, involving yourself in long-term unhealthy relationships, neglecting your own needs, or putting yourself in unsafe situations. Make sure there is no harm or threat to your physical body while you give love. You are the most important person in the world. Without you, you have no life. Put yourself first.
It certainly doesn’t mean you carry the burden and responsibility of feeding and providing for the world. No one can do that. An ordinary human cannot realistically love everyone at all times. It takes energy, focus, intent, and action to love. You need breaks to care for yourself. Do your best to love whoever and whenever you can.
Love is not blind; it is not without principles and boundaries. Set your boundaries to protect yourself all the time. Do not accept someone’s irrational behavior and demand at the expense of your own needs. Giving unconditional love uplifts your mood and makes you feel joyful and relaxed in a meaningful life. If it becomes painful, stop and reassess.
Your unconditional love is yours to give freely without any obligation. Don’t feel you owe any love to anybody, especially by coercion. It’s your free choice to offer it or not in any moment or situation, not necessarily forever. You can send out love to anyone in your heart without being in their presence or having a relationship with them.
Sometimes loving unconditionally in a relationship means telling frankly how you feel, even if it may offend the other person. It also means you may have to end a relationship for your own good. Do it out of love, wisdom, good intention, and caring for all involved.
Conclusion
Love yourself unconditionally first and take good care of yourself in body, mind, and spirit. Only when you are filled with love, light, truth, peace, and joy within will you have the love, compassion, acceptance, courage, and energy to unconditionally love many, if not everyone.
Humanity is meant to be all about love, unity, and loving relationships—more than just familial and romantic love or friendship. It is easy to love someone who loves us. As you rise above human fallacy of eye for eye, ego, and selfishness, you have inside you the powerful energy from the divine to enable you to love all, even your enemies.
Shine and spread your love and become a light in a dark world lacking compassion. Love unconditionally to change yours and the lives of your fellow human beings. There is something bigger and higher than us. We have a higher purpose and calling because of who we are as part of a perfect loving Source Creator.
When unconditional love is all over the Earth, there will hardly be any offense, vice, corruption, violence, crime, or iniquity against other people. In a coming new world, laws may not be necessary. Our love, consciousness, and conscience—guiding our feelings, words, thoughts, and actions—become the laws. Only benevolent leaders full of love for all are “elected” to mentor or “govern” citizens if necessary. Perhaps this is what Romans 2:15 and other Bible verses really mean when they say that God’s law is written in people’s hearts.
